Author Tips Part Two – Learn To Write – From The Pros
Our last blog focused on “writing a book” – here are some more tips from pros, this time on the writing process :
– Set yourself a writing goal. Give yourself a set number of pages or words to accomplish every day.
-Choose a place to write that inspires you, or where you can find peaceful, quiet time.
-Share your work with a writing buddy – exchange chapters for ideas and constructive criticisms
-Say Simple – as the New York Times writer Colson Whitehead says, never use three words when one will do.
– Try to write first and edit later! Bill Harper advises that ” Creating and editing are two separate processes using different sides of the brain, and if you try doing both at once you’ll lose. ”
What are you waiting for? Start writing ! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
