TIPS AND TECHNIQUES FOR WRITERS – THE FIRST IN AN OCCASIONAL SERIES
“Write what you know” is one we have all heard. While not a hard and fast rule, it is a good rule of thumb. Better yet, write about something you love – something you’re passionate about, something you have become an expert in.
Chances are, if you are interested in talking or reading about it, many others will be, too. Which leads us to another writers cliche/truism :
If there is something you want to read about, and you can’t find the book…write it.
As unique as you and your interests are, you make up part of a demographic that a publisher will want to reach.
Once you have written (and rewritten and edited and written again) it’s just a matter of finding the right publisher.
We will write about finding the perfect publisher in our next blog.
